I HAVE become progressively angrier each day after reading the vindictive and ill- informed letters from people such as W. Ferguson regarding the foot and mouth crisis.

There are good farmers and bad farmers, but most are concerned for the welfare of their stock.

Many have spent their lifetime building up herds and flocks, as have their fathers before them.

Of course farmers have financial worries - who is going to keep them if all their stock is destroyed?
