Mar. 9--State investigations have not found any illegal use of milk protein concentrates by Wisconsin cheesemakers, said Ben Brancel, Wisconsin's secretary of agriculture.

Brancel's disclosure comes as the federal government released a study showing that imports of powdered milk protein concentrates soared to more than 120 million pounds in 1999, posing a threat to the market for domestic milk.
