FORMER ISSAQUAH COACH RILLA DIES.(Sports)

Duane Rilla, former head football coach at Issaquah High School (1995-98) and Western Montana College, died of cancer Sunday at his home in Dillon, Mont. He was 36.

A native of Glendive, Mont., Rilla had undergone cancer treatment since early 2000, and stepped down as Western Montana's head coach in October with a 2-18 record. He remained on staff as a teacher.

Rilla, a football and baseball star at Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D., posted a 23-16 record as Issaquah's head coach before taking the Western Montana job in 1999.
