THERE'S SOMETHING about pancakes that makes them just right for a lazy weekend morning.

Whether you pour them out of a box or make them from scratch, they are filling, fun to make and, often, a bit messy. The whole family can pitch in to mix and pour a batch of hot cakes, adding little embellishments such as blueberries, bananas, chocolate or bits of sausage. They are the perfect food for weekends, when schedules are relaxed and the family has more time to spend together.
