Wireless Provider Markets Itself to Business Clients.(Nextel Partners Inc.)(Brief Article)

Nextel Partners Inc. of Kirkland, Wash. began offering wireless phone service in Arkansas last Wednesday.

But the launch comes on the heels of a sales effort that began in December and has already signed up about 1,000 customers, said Jon Nickolson, Nextel's general manager for Little Rock. Two of the accounts, International Paper Co. and Comcast, are pretty substantial.

Nextel will have 40 employees in Arkansas and a network of licensed dealers. The company will not open any retail stores.
