ACCORDING TO SALOMON BROTHERS STOCK RESEARCH ANALYSTS

NEW YORK, March 6 -- Japanese steel producers, in joint ventures in the United States and possibly elsewhere in the world, are to become the first and only steel multinationals based on their customer relations and extremely low cost of capital, according to a Salomon Brothers' Stock Research Department report by Michelle Galanter Applebaum in Salomon Brothers, New York and Ron Napier in Salomon Brothers, Tokyo.
