Extent of SPCA's efforts

unfairly minimized in article

As president of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Beach Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals, I was dismayed and disappointed by the inaccuracy of the article printed by the Beacon on Jan. 7, which was apparently written to imply to readers that the VBSPCA was euthanizing purebred animals rather than shipping them out of the area. There is not a single person on the Board, or staff of the VBSPCA who would allow an animal to be euthanized if there was a good, qualified home available for that animal.
