ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO TO OPEN NEW, MULTI-USE ADDITION ON SEPT. 17;

CHICAGO, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- James N. Wood, director of the Art Institute of Chicago, has announced that the new Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Building, an addition of 128,000 square feet, will open to the public on Sept. 17, 1988. The $23 million building will provide permanent gallery space for three curatorial departments, as well as a skylit sculpture court and one of the largest spaces for special exhibitions in any U.S. art museum.
