WILLIAMSBURG -- For the first time, scholars have compiled every record they have on the trans-Atlantic slave trade for publication on a CD-ROM.

Scholars spent 30 years gathering every advertisement, shipping statement, insurance record and journal entry they could find. The CD-ROM will make its debut during a conference on the slave trade next weekend, Friday through Sunday, at the College of William and Mary.
