PORTSMOUTH -- Benjamin F. Butler III, 66, passed away Feb. 25, 1999, in Lake Placid, Fla.

He was a former member of the Virginia National Guard and a member of the Church of the Resurrection. He retired from NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton. He founded Butler Welding Corporation in 1979 and was the president. His father, Benjamin F. Butler Jr., predeceased him.
