MANTEO -- The man who built the Elizabeth II signed a contract Monday to restore the weather-worn historic attraction.

O. Lie-Nielsen, 91, was charged with construction of the 16th-century representative sailing ship in 1983. Now he'll be back, along with many craftsmen from the original crew, to oversee the $350,000 project to repair his handiwork.
