Karen Beatty may be a Green Sea Festival rookie but she's a veteran bird watcher.

``I've not worked the festival before,'' said the Virginia Beach resident whowill lead a group on an ``Early Bird Walk'' at 8 a.m. in Northwest River Park Saturday and conduct two programs on bird calls. ``I'm looking forward to it; forward to getting people excited and interested in birds, which are an important component of Virginia Beachs and Chesapeake's wetlands (a.k.a. the Southern Watershed Area).''
