WASHINGTON -- There's more television programming for kids these days and much of it is better than it used to be, a broad new study by the Annenberg Public Policy Center indicates.

But the public still doesn't think much of TV for children and there is reason for complaint, the researchers said, noting continuing high levels of violence in some shows and educational programming that had little or no educational value.
