WORM (Write Once Read Many) optical drives have experienced a very slow development during the past year By seeking to attract specific target niches with specialized applications, WORM drive manufacturers are only recently beginning to show revenues.
Small WORM drives, using 5.25 inch disks, generally hold about 200 megabytes of data. The 12 and 14 inch disks hold over one gigabyte of data each.
