Lloyd's Sets Standards For New Brokers.(Lloyd's of London)

Poised to open the market to a wider field of overseas and U.K. insurance brokers, Lloyd's of London last week published standards that brokers must meet before they can become accredited Lloyd's brokers starting in January 2001.

"Our aim is to provide wider access to the market for brokers who can meet a clear set of commercially based standards which are designed to promote high levels of professionalism, integrity and customer service," said Andrew Duguid, director of development at Lloyd's, in a statement.
