Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (Rockville, MD; 301-309-8504) announced that Schering-Plough Corporation (Madison, NJ) has exercised one of its product option rights to develop and commercialize a novel type of interferon discovered by Human Genome. This novel protein has potential therapeutic applications autoimmune and infectious diseases and cancer.
