Information about the growth habits, identification and control of some of these hangers on.

Epiphytes are plants which grow upon other plants. Phorophytes are the host plants used by the epiphyte for support. Epiphytes photosynthesize and obtain their moisture and nutrient requirements independently of the phorophyte. Therefore, this relationship can be considered Commensalism since the epiphyte is benefiting, while the phorophyte neither benefits nor is harmed.
