Q. I'm 6-foot-8 and weigh 260 pounds. The hourglass skis I have perform well on intermediate runs but I have trouble on double black diamond runs and steeps. I seem to do better on my old slalom skis in these difficult situations. Any recommendations? - Chris, Arvada
A. You say the hourglass skis perform well on intermediate runs but not so on the double black diamonds or steeps. Because of the design and shape of the hourglass skis, you must work them differently on black diamond terrain than you do your conventional slalom skis.
