Seven months after Colorado closed the High Plains youth prison in Brush because it was dangerous, officials of the private company that ran it are trying to reopen it under a new corporate name.

The for-profit prison operated by Rebound Corp. had a license to house 184 teen killers, rapists and other serious criminals. But the suicide of a 13-year-old boy last winter sparked an investigation that found child abuse, injuries, sex between staff and inmates and over-use of restraints.
