Stapleton Airport is finally for sale.

More than three years after the 4,700-acre airfield closed for good, officials say they are in serious negotiations on the sale of hundreds of acres.

Dick Anderson, Stapleton Development Corp. president, said these sales are likely in the next several months:

* 215 commercial acres southwest of Interstate 70 and Havana Street, which has five serious offers on it. The Stapleton master plan calls for industrial, showroom, office and retail there.
