ALO Communicaciones SA, a subsidiary of RSL Communications Ltd., has announced that the first phase of its fiber optic metropolitan area networks in Barcelona and Valencia are now operative. The areas covered by the metropolitan network means that nearly 9,000 companies, with a turnover of 870,146 million pesetas a year (about US$5 billion), can enjoy ALO's services. Using its multi-service networks, ALO will be able to offer its customers data, voice, and Internet-related services (access, hosting, e-commerce, ASPs, etc.).
