Mexico late on Monday signed a free trade agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and in doing so became the country that has signed most such agreements. Mexico now has free trade agreements with 31 nations. Its agreement with EFTA -- which comprises EU non-members Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein -- will enter into effect July 1, 2001.
