Marilyn Krysl is the director of the creative writing program at the University of Colorado, and if one can teach through example, her collection of stories How To Accommodate Men should be required reading for all her charges.

The collection is a tour de force that dazzles us with its vastly different voices and viewpoints. If there's a thread that holds the stories together, it's that most explore women's often-sad education in the ways of the world.
