The history of art comes alive because of the exploits of the bad boys - and bad girls - who populate its vast landscape. One of the most colorful betes noires was Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
Born in 1864 to a wealthy family that pined for the long-gone days of monarchy, Toulouse-Lautrec studied with favored instructors and learned the academic style.
