The United States Forest Service has released its draft forest plan for the White River National Forest and the accompanying draft environmental impact statement, and no one I have met is happy about it.

In its impact statement, the Forest Service chose as its ``preferred alternative,'' Alternative D. Off-road vehicle enthusiasts are livid over proposed limits on their use of the forest.
