WILKES-BARRE GENERAL SELECTED FUTURE OWNER OF NANTICOKE STATE GENERAL

NANTICOKE, Pa., May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Welfare Secretary John F. White Jr. announced today that Wilkes-Barre General Hospital has been selected as the future owner of Nanticoke State General Hospital.

White said the Department of Public Welfare will move quickly to negotiate a transfer agreement with Wilkes-Barre General, which intends to spend $16 million for a new inpatient building and extensive renovations at the Nanticoke hospital.
