UW FOUNDATION TO BOOST WILEY'S SALARY BY $96,000.(Local/State)

When John Wiley raises money as UW-Madison's new chancellor, he will be working to fund his own pay raise.

Wisconsin law allows an annual state-funded salary of $193,000 for the position; that's what outgoing Chancellor David Ward makes. But the Board of Regents believes it is important to offer a salary competitive with peer institutions.

So the University of Wisconsin Foundation will be kicking in an additional $96,000 annually under an arrangement previously agreed to by the foundation's board of directors.

Combined, the $289,000 salary is just above the $275,000 ...
