Young artists in Europe and elsewhere have discovered a new way of getting their work before the public: they have reproductions of their paintings (and other works) printed as postcards, and these are then sold in galleries, bookstores, stationery shops and gift shops. In no time at all-or so they say-the sales begin to pay for the artist's initial investment; and the artist's name and address, thoughtfully printed in back of each of these picture postcards, will attract potential collectors and gallery owners-or so it is hoped.
