Britain and the USA have stated that they do not have any objection to Iraqi airlines resuming domestic commercial flights through no-fly zones imposed in the north and south of the country.
The US government has indicated that it will closely monitor the air traffic zones to ensure that the Iraqi military does not fly through the areas and threaten people on the ground, such as a Kurdish enclave in the north and Muslim Shiites in the south, or neighbouring countries.
