392 Native English Speakers to Be Recruited for Schools.

A total of 392 native English speakers will be recruited at middle and high schools next year, more than double the 178 employed this year, the Education Ministry said yesterday.

The government has been recruiting native English speakers to train middle and high school English teachers since 1998, under a program called ``English Program in Korea.''

The growth in recruitment is aimed to train Korean English teachers effectively and give students more chances to talk with native speakers in class, a ministry official said.
