A LETTER sent to Scott of the Antarctic which arrived in the frozen south a year after he died is to go under the hammer on the Internet.

The four-page letter from Sir Clements Markham, President of the Royal Geographic Society, was posted in London on October 13, 1911.

It finally reached its destination on January 18, 1913, a year and a day after Robert Scott and four companions reached the South Pole - only to find they had been beaten to it by Norwegian Roal...
