A cigar may be a cigar, to quote Dr. Freud, but a pipe is something else.
Ask John Anderson, 33, a co-owner of W. Curtis Draper Tobacconist in Northwest. Though the pipe conjures up a rumpled, stuffed-shirt professor with leather patches on his tweed sleeves, Mr. Anderson says demand is up for the long-stemmed pipe even as interest in cigar bars and the high-end, premium quality cheroot is slowing down.
