CHINA OKAYS US$5.9 MLN FOR IMPROVING KARAKORUM HIGHWAY.

ISLAMABAD, Sept 18 Asia Pulse - China has sanctioned an amount of Rs.320 million (US$5.9 million) for improvement of Karakorum Highway besides designing of 7 bridges in the area. The modern highway in Pakistan was built with Chinese assistance on the ancient Silk trade route between the two countries.

This was announced here Thursday by Yan Changqing, leader of the member team of Chinese Technical Experts, during a meeting with Minister for Communications and Railways Lt. Gen (Retd) Javed Ashraf here Thursday.

The Chinese team is currently visiting Pakistan ...
