The Privatisation Administration (OIB) has cancelled the tender for a 100 per cent stake in integrated long steel producer Iskenderun Iron & Steel Works (Isdemir) due to lack of interest.

Only one offer had been submitted for the country's second largest integrated plant when bidding dosed on 18 August, a deadline that had been extended twice. That was from Eregli Iron & Steel Works (Erdemir), the country's sole flat steel producer, which is seeking to double its capacity to 6 million tonnes a year (t/y) by 2005 (MEED 5:5:00).
