Korea has one of the largest metro construction programmes in the world, although progress with some projects has been hampered by the Korean economic crisis. Metro lines are in service in Seoul (see previous article), Inchon, Pusan, and Taegu, and expansion is underway in three of these cities. New systems are under construction in Kwangju and Taejon, and a metro is proposed in Ulsan.
