Alexander Cutler, the new CEO of Eaton Corp., has wasted little time shaking up the supplier.

Last week, Eaton announced the planned sale of its cockpit switch business. Also, Cutler's top automotive officer stepped down after a year on the job.

Bruce Taylor, 46, senior vice president and group executive for Eaton's $1.9 billion Automotive Components Group, was assigned to undefined special projects until the end of 2000.

An Eaton spokeswoman declined to discuss what appeared to be a surprise departure for Taylor, who headed the unit since Sept. 1 of last year. ...
