ISLAM has a bad reputation. The Koran urges tolerance: "Your religion for you and mine for me." Of the 99 names of Allah, at least 95 denote "positive" attributes such as truth, justice and mercy. Yet Islam is not at bay; it seems to be enjoying a big revival. Why, then, is it popularly seen as a religion of hate and rage, conjuring up images of hijacking, hostage-taking and war?
