The name of Rennie Harris' ensemble, Rennie Harris/Pure Movement, is somewhat deceptive, for it goes well beyond the formal elements of dance, or ``pure movement,'' into political theater.

Indeed, Harris keeps the virtuosic thunderbolts of hip-hop dance, in which he specializes, primarily to the second half of his touring program, making its bow to Seattle this week at Washington Hall Performance Gallery. Certainly, the members of Harris' company are dramatically talented in this most visceral of street dancing genres.
