The Blue Angels will perform over Lake Washington this summer for the first time since safety concerns scrubbed their 1994 and 1995 performances, Seafair festival officials announced yesterday.

For this summer's show, the Federal Aviation Administration and Navy have approved a plan that will meet federal safety rules by temporarily banning pleasure boats under the Blue Angels' maneuver area, Seafair President Beth Wojick said.

Until the safety ban, the Navy fliers had performed over Lake Washington for more than two decades during Seafair and the annual Texaco Cup ...
