Prime ministers from 12 former Soviet republics gathered yesterday to seek ways to bolster cooperation at a time when many face deep economic problems.
The prime ministers from the Commonwealth of Independent States, an alliance of former Soviet republics, also discussed establishing a free-trade zone among member states - an idea first put forward when the alliance was founded seven years ago.
