Founded seven years ago, Cappella Romana immediately established itself as a small ensemble dedicated to the unusual in unaccompanied vocal music.

The group, led by the young scholar Alexander Lingas, explored little-known regions of the Christian East and West, in its earliest and latest expressions of faith, with a particular emphasis on the Byzantine world of Constantinople and the Slavic countries it influenced.
