In an act of tortured political correctness, the Treasury Department's Dollar Coin Advisory Committee has proposed that a likeness of Sacajawea and Lady Liberty be morphed onto the new dollar coin.

Give us a break.

Either put Sacajawea on the coin, or put Lady Liberty - or somebody else - on the coin. But spare us this waffling nonsense.

If the government's aim is to honor the people whose ancestral land we're occupying by putting one of them on our dollar - and that does have a certain twisted logic - let's not add insult to injury by making Sacajawea less Indian.
