Season five of ``Babylon 5'' begins meekly tonight with an overly chatty addition to the collection. Focusing as it does on explanatory dialogue among a quintet of main characters, ``Babble On 5'' might seem a more appropriate title for this installment.

No biggie. Fans of the sci-fi series aren't likely to desert en masse. Even a tedious revival is better than a funeral, which was a real alternative last summer, when J.
