The Auroras have been called one of nature's most beautiful sights. Colors of pale green, red, orange, blue or violet, and even yellow. They are displays of shining patterns that seem to wave in the breeze. Sometimes, mostly in the United States, they look ghostly white, but there's nothing spooky about them.
It's an Aurora! This natural occurrence happens in the upper atmosphere. The northern lights are called the aurora borealis. The southern lights are called the aurora australis.
