DENVER -- Treatment of obesity is not the near-hopeless proposition many physicians think.

"Our success rate is not terrible: We can produce and maintain a 10% weight loss. We know that can significantly improve health," James O. Hill, Ph.D., asserted at a symposium on the management of risk factors for cardiovascular disease sponsored by the University of Colorado.
