Getting to Cappadocia takes some effort. The closest big city is Ankara, 180 miles and a four-hour bus ride away, so if you go, it's worth staying several days. We spent four days there in mid-May in between visits to Istanbul and the Mediterranean coast, and didn't see all that we wanted.
