In 1965, a 13-year-old boy from an alcohol-shattered home wandered into John Gillespie's Sunday School class. Gillespie and his wife, Jan, asked the boy to spend a few days with theirfamily . . . which grew into a fewweeks . . . which grew into an open door for other troubled boys.
Before long, the Gillespies' hospitality had outgrown their home and Rawhide Boys Ranch was founded. Today,
Rawhide's 500-acre campus northwest of Appleton is regarded as one of the most successful programs of its kind.
