The entire affair was disjointed and inartistic, but imagine how the Wichita State Shockers must have felt. They were the losers, flattened by the Washington Huskies, whose defense was the pivotal reason.

Improving to 4-4, Washington defeated Wichita State 61-47 in KeyArena in front of 5,024 fans, enhancing its reputation as an in-your-face, down-and-dirty, slug-it-out team.

If it is going to happen for the Huskies this season, success will come in an unattractive package filled with hands in the passing lanes and bodies on the floor.
