Gov. Gary Locke's campaign committee yesterday returned $1,000 in contributions made by John Huang, the former Democratic Party official at the center of the 1996 presidential fund-raising scandal.
Locke returned the money following Huang's decision last week to plead guilty to conspiring to make illegal contributions in two California elections in the early 1990s.
Although Huang was not charged with wrongdoing in connection with his work for the Clinton campaign, congressional investigators accused him of funneling hundreds of thousands of illegal ...
