How much urban shellfish should a shucker shun if a shucker should shun urban shellfish?

All of them, say public health officials. Given that this weekend is the beginning of the lowest tide of the year, they are warning against harvesting shellfish on any urban beach because of an ever-present pollution risk.

``There's a real potential that people will be exposing themselves to chronic contaminants,'' said Wayne Clifford, manager of shellfish safety for the state Department of Health.
